Your creative work belongs to you, not their algorithm

You’ve built your portfolio, your style, your body of work. The last thing you need is a cloud provider quietly using it to train the AI that competes with you.

It’s your work, not theirs

You have built your portfolio, your style, your body of work. The last thing you need is a cloud provider quietly using it to train the AI that competes with you. Bigby stores everything in encrypted form, and we do not access a pixel of it.

What storing your work on a major platform actually risks

Cloud terms of service are written broadly, and creative work is exactly the kind of content those terms were written to cover.

Broad content licences buried in the terms you agreed to

Most major cloud platforms' terms include a licence to use, reproduce, and analyse the content you upload, often broader than needed just to provide storage. For a working portfolio, that licence covers everything you have stored, not just the pieces you meant to share.

Your unreleased work can train the tools you compete with

Platforms with AI products have started training on user content by default. Client mockups, unpublished shoots, and drafts stored there can end up feeding the exact tools now being marketed as replacements for creative work.

Client confidentiality isn't only yours to risk

When you store a client's unreleased campaign or a confidential brief, you are making a decision about their data, not just your own. A platform with broad scanning rights puts that confidentiality at risk on their behalf too.

Takedowns and suspensions can happen without warning

Automated content scanning on major platforms can flag creative work incorrectly, and account suspensions can lock you out of your own portfolio while a dispute is resolved. Losing access to working files mid-project is a real, recurring problem on these platforms.

How Bigby works

Unlike the major cloud platforms, Bigby does not scan, analyse, or profit from the files you store. Here is how that works.

01. Encrypted in transit and at rest

Your files are encrypted on the way to us and while they sit on our UK servers, so they are protected in transit and never stored as readable plain text. We hold the encryption keys, which is what allows features like editing documents in your browser to work.

02. No access to file contents

Bigby does not open, scan, or read the contents of what you store. We have no business reason to and our data processing terms prohibit it.

03. No AI training or secondary use

Your stored content is not used for AI training, advertising targeting, or any analysis of any kind. The subscription fee covers the cost of running the service. That is the entire arrangement.

04. Your IP stays yours

Because we do not access your files, we do not use them. Not for AI training, not for analysis, not for anything. What you store is yours, full stop.

Frequently asked questions

No. We do not access the contents of your files. Bigby is a subscription service. Your subscription fee covers the cost of storing and delivering your files. There is no advertising model, no AI pipeline, and no commercial reason to analyse what you store.

Yes. You can share files and folders from your Bigby storage. Recipients access what you have shared and nothing more. Client work stays between you and your client, not visible to a cloud platform that has its own interests in your data.

Files are stored in encrypted form on UK infrastructure. An attacker who gained access to our file storage would encounter encrypted data rather than readable files. We also store data in the UK, which means UK legal frameworks and breach notification requirements apply.

Bigby is designed precisely for this kind of sensitive, professional storage. UK data residency and GDPR compliance mean you are on solid ground with UK clients. If you have specific contractual obligations around data handling, it is worth reviewing those against our terms.

We charge a fair price for the service. No advertising, no data brokering, no hidden monetisation. The price you pay covers what it costs to run Bigby, with a margin on top. We think that is how it should work.

Bigby supports WebDAV, an open standard that works with a wide range of applications and operating systems. If your workflow involves syncing or accessing files from desktop software, there is a good chance it will work. We are happy to answer specifics if you have a particular setup in mind.
